For over 55 years, Arden Cahill Academy has combined a strong education with the unique qualities of an outdoor country environment. Located just minutes from downtown and nestled along Bayou Fatma in Gretna, the 12-acre campus serves students from six weeks in its Infant Center through 12th grade.

Horse stables, a petting farm, STEAM Lab, art studios, band, music rooms, and 300-seat theater make the Arden Cahill Academy campus unique! The academy also hosts Camp Corral, a 10-week summer camp that has been voted Best of New Orleans by Gambit readers for FOUR consecutive years.

We are proud to announce that we have also been voted 2023 Family Favorite by our Nola Family readers for our Preschool, Childcare, Summer Camp and Afterschool Programs. We are proud to continue our tradition of academic excellence and cultural enrichment through our college preparatory curriculum.

This past spring, we graduated our first class of high school students! Our inaugural class of nine graduates earned over 1.5 million dollars in scholarships and are currently attending LSU, Loyola, and UHC. Leading our high school’s administrative team is Ms. Laura Bloom Martin. Ms. Martin came to us from one of the top three school districts in the state of Louisiana, with over 15 years of secondary education and administrative experience. She has excelled in a multitude of capacities including teacher, curriculum and instructional specialist, assistant principal, and as a district level supervisor over Career and Technical Education. She has worked extensively with STEM programs, including co-writing a kindergarten through college level STEM pathway on Coastal Restoration for the Louisiana Department of Education.

Among Ms. Martin’s proudest accomplishments is her work in curriculum and instruction, which allowed for the ascension of multiple schools from C to A ratings under her administrative oversight. When asked to reflect on the past five years and the addition of our high school, Ms. Martin stated, “Our vision to establish a high school that excels in both academics and the liberal arts, while providing a truly diverse co-ed population on a beautiful campus has come to fruition. I am most excited about the post-secondary educational opportunities we offer our student body. We offer several Dual Enrollment courses through the University of Holy Cross and Southeastern, we also offer AP classes, and our students are also able to CLEP. Our seniors are easily able to graduate with more than one semester of college completed by utilizing a combination of Dual Enrollment, CLEP, and AP courses. In addition, we have a partnership through Operation Spark for students interested in software development. Students take the first two course levels with us and then move on to Operation Spark after graduation where they’re offered job placement in the industry. As we approach our 60th year in academic achievement, we look forward to the 2024-25 school year and welcoming the next pod of ‘Whales’ to afford them the opportunities and benefits of a Cahill education.”
