At Trajectory, we offer meaningful psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults in Louisiana. Dr. Henke is proud to offer both counseling and medication consultation services, and he uses a biopsychosocial approach in the interest of formulating a well-rounded treatment plan that will address all of the presenting concerns. Common reasons for pursuing us include problems with anxiety, depression, mood instability, emotion regulation, behavior, attention, impulse control, time management, learning, parenting, communication, socialization, and development.
From a counseling standpoint, Dr. Henke combines elements of several approaches, including supportive therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, and motivational interviewing, among others. When it comes to medication, he tends to be more conservative but will suggest considering it when he deems it appropriate.
Dr. Henke is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist from Lafayette, LA. After graduating from Lafayette High School, he attended Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, and acquired a B.S. in biology with minors in chemistry and psychology. He lived in New Orleans for nine years to attend LSU Health Sciences Center, where he completed medical school, residency training in adult psychiatry, and fellowship training in child/adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Henke now lives in Madisonville with his wife, two children, two dogs, and two cats. Outside of Trajectory, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and rooting for the Saints, Tigers, and Ragin’ Cajuns.
We have offices in Mandeville and uptown New Orleans and can conduct appointments both virtually and in person.
