Congregation Gates of Prayer is one of the oldest and most distinguished Reform temples in New Orleans. Since its opening in 1975, Louise Hayem Manheim Gates Preschool’s mission has been to provide a stimulating and supportive learning environment where children aged three months to five years can grow and develop emotionally, cognitively and physically. It prepares students to be well-rounded and self-confident children for future education and life success.
Rooted in Jewish wisdom and progressive educational practices, the preschool’s Tier 1 Frog Street Curriculum for Infants through Pre-K ranks highest on Louisiana Department of Education indicators.
Gates Preschool continues to serve families from a variety of religious and cultural backgrounds. The preschool’s inclusive approach to Jewish traditions is marked by celebrations of Shabbat and Jewish holidays through songs and events, fostering an appreciation for their heritage. With a commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment, the preschool’s state-of-the-art facility, including spacious playgrounds, promotes holistic child development.
